Chemistry Testing 3

The specimen tube is placed directly onto the tray or the specimen is transferred with a disposable pipette to a sample cup for analysis. Via the instrument's computer, the tech will program the tests to be performed. After all programming is complete, the analyzer starts the analysis. Sample is aspirated and appropriate reagents added. After an incubation period, the analyzer measures the concentration of that particular analyte. Results are usually available in 10-20 minutes.
