Syphilis
  • Macules, papules or plaques with or without scale located on trunk and extremities, including palms and soles, mouth and genitalia
  • Generalized eruption appears 6-12 weeks after primary genital lesion
  • Rash is usually asymptomatic
  • Serologic test for syphilis is positive in this phase of the disease
  • Histology: Hyperkeratosis, acanthosis, superficial and deep perivascular infiltrate of lymphocytes and plasma cells. Silver stains may show spirochetes around vessels in the dermis
