 | - Vesicles that evolve into crusted ulcerations or large bullae
- Occurs most commonly in children and young adults
- Caused by group A beta hemolytic streptococci (impetigo contagiosa) or Staphylococcus aureus (bullous impetigo)
- Gram stain from a fresh vesicle shows gram positive cocci
