Impetigo
  • Vesicles that evolve into crusted ulcerations or large bullae
  • Occurs most commonly in children and young adults
  • Caused by group A beta hemolytic streptococci (impetigo contagiosa) or Staphylococcus aureus (bullous impetigo)
  • Gram stain from a fresh vesicle shows gram positive cocci
