Pituitary Adenoma
Sagittal view of the brain in a patient with acromegaly. This is a very large tumor that had grown above the sella turcica and had extended into the third ventricle. Notice the presence of hemorrhage within the tumor. This is what is known as "pituitary apoplexia" a devastating neurological catastrophy with the onset of sudden blindness and frequently resulting in death.
