Astrocytoma (Grade 4)
Sections of the cerebrum in an individual with a glioblastoma multiforme. The tumor originates in the hemispheric white matter of the left cerebral hemisphere and is extending through the corpus callosum to the contralateral side. The gross appearance of the tumor is variegate with yellow, red, and brown. These colors correspond histologically to areas of necrosis, hemorrhages and hypervascularization.
