| Papanicolaou Test - Malignant (Cytology) |
| When invasion has occurred many necrotic and distorted tumor cells appear in the cytologic sample. There are both single cells and cohesive groups. We see that the degree of nuclear variation and differences in nucleus to cytoplasm area are striking. Some areas show degenerated erythrocytes and mixed inflammatory cells indicative of hemorrhage and ulceration. |
