| At high power the atypical cells have scant cytoplasm and variable size nuclei. The nuclei are dense (hyperchromatic) with coarse chromatin and occasional nucleoli. The nuclear to cytoplasmic ratio is higher than in normal transitional cells, even reactive ones. |
