| Pleomorphic Adenoma - Benign Mixed Tumor (Cytology) |
| When epithelial cells groups are examined closely, the nuclei have fine chromatin and small nucleoli. The aggregates may be flat sheets, branching ductal formations or solid mounds of cells. The cytologic confirmation of benign cells only in all passes allows the surgeon to perform a limited resection without node dissection. The facial nerve is spared unless surrouned by the tumor. |
